San Diego Zoo Hotels

“Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!” is what you’ll say when you visit the San Diego Zoo. Located in Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo is one of the largest zoos in the world. It boasts more than 4,000 animals representing over 800 species, courtesy of the owner, the nonprofit Zoological Society of San Diego. This zoo’s 100 acres is leased from the city of San Diego, as are the animals and equipment. If you’re planning to visit the San Diego Zoo, it’s convenient. Take advantage of the guided tour buses that cover 75 percent of the park using an overhead gondola lift. You’ll get an aerial view of the zoo in a speedy fashion. When visiting the zoo, just choose a habitat and check out the exhibits that interest you. Each exhibit features various animals that can be found side-by-side in the wild so you’ll learn a lot during your visit. A popular exhibit showcases the African rain forest and features gorillas. There’s also an exhibit for the Arctic taiga and tundra, where you can see polar bears. And believe it or not, the largest free-flight aviaries are living at the San Diego Zoo. So come visit and enjoy all that San Diego has to offer.
